Auguscope app update.
The Auguscope app is now compatible and available for Android 14+ and is available in Google Play.

The latest version of the Auguscope app for Android has some permissions-related changes, such as accessing images/media from the device storage and posting notifications.
Android 14 changes reference link
Note on data permissions:
The new photos/media permissions enable access to photos from device storage with a system-defined UI.
If you decline the Post notification permission, you won’t be able to get the notifications generated by the app, which may be most important.
The screenshots below compare the new permissions added to the new app and the older permission dialogs.
New Permission for Android 13 and above - The permission used for sending notifications from the app, this change helps users focus on the notifications that are most important to them.
Note: This new permission will be asked after a fresh install or update of the app. However, it will be asked only on Android version 13 and above devices.
New Permission for Android 13 and Above - The Read media image permission allows users to access photos from the device’s storage.
There are two variants of this permission dialog.
In Android version 13 and below, we can allow/deny permission.
In Android version 14 we can have partial photo access permission.
It’s advised to choose Allow all to keep normal behavior of the app.
Note: This is an old permission and will be asked only after a fresh install.
New Permission for all OS versions - Grant permission manually: We added a new dialog to grant permission to access photos on the user’s device if the user has denied the permission earlier.
This is available for all OS versions, including Android 14.
Note: This new manual permission will be asked after a fresh install or after updating the app. It will be asked if the user has not been granted permission to access images. It will be shown/asked on all OS versions.
Click on the “Go to Settings” button (1) It will open your app info screen.
Click on the Permissions option (2).
Select the “Photos and videos” option (3).
Select “Always allow all” (4).
Once completing the above steps return to your app and add the images from the gallery.
MQTT port redundancy.
We unblocked the restriction of connecting to MQTT port 8883 only.
Your local IT teams can now configure the port to 8883 or 443.
This will prevent nodes from connecting to Augury’s backend.
This will enable nodes to connect to Augury’s backend.
If you decide to change the configuration during operation, the node will detect the change, update its configuration to the appropriate node, and prevent downtime.
Endpoint series tags and videos.
Our articles now include EP series tags (E1, E2, E3, E4) to help you quickly find the exact EP-type instructions.
Note that the R4000 was originally tagged as "CN" but is now E3.
We are now in the process of adding instructional videos to technical documentation.
