An Overview of the Halo Installation App

In the rapidly evolving world of the Internet of Things (IoT), connectivity is key to ensuring the seamless operation of various devices and systems. One of the tools designed to assist in maintaining IoT connectivity and addressing issues is Halo.

The Halo system of IoT devices includes mounting sensors on the customer’s assets, and transmitting data from these endpoints through a node to the Augury cloud. This data provides actionable insights that lead to increased equipment life, improved machine reliability, and more efficient operations.

The Halo Installation app is designed to streamline the installation, deployment (registration and activation), and maintenance of IoT devices (nodes and endpoints). It is currently available for Android devices. Download it on the Google Play Store here.

The installation and deployment of devices are done by Augury engineers. If the IoT indications show that the customer needs to self-maintain a device (for example, replacing the battery or EP), this should be accomplished under Augury guidance together with detailed documentation from our Knowledge Base.

If there is a problem with a device, Augury provides connectivity troubleshooting and device installation guides in our Knowledge Base to help you replace the device yourself.

Overview of the Halo Installation App

Log in using your Augury credentials. The first time you log in, you need to provide permission for access to the device’s location, for Halo to send notifications, and for Halo to access media.

The app is divided into two areas, Field Jobs and Installed.

The Field Jobs tab is used to survey and then install the sensors. The first technician surveys the site to understand what is needed and where and creates a detailed job survey to help the installation go smoothly. They (or another technician) return to the site with the necessary sensors, install and digitally map them to their machine bearings, and then connect all endpoints of each machine to the nearest node. The Installed tab lists all the Halo devices. The red point indicates a problem. In the following screenshot, the node endpoint is transmitting but not sending data.

Tap the menu (at the top left of the app) for the following functions.
