Peplink Router Firmware Upgrade Guide (Windows Device)

Before You Begin

  • When entering passwords, ensure capitalization is correct and no whitespace is included by mistake.

  • Router Wireless Connection

    • SSID: Augury_Cellular

    • Password: augurysys1

  • Router Web Admin URL: https://192.168.50.1

    • NOTE: You MUST type “https://”

  • Router Local Login

    • Username: admin

    • Password: Augurysys1

NOTE: You must be in the same physical area as the affected device with an adequate Wi-Fi signal strength. These actions must be performed on the router’s local wireless network. Due to the nature of this outage, the device cannot be accessed remotely.

IMPORTANT: Disable mobile data before starting.

Step 1 - Disable Mobile Data

  1. Mobile data must be disabled to avoid unexpected behavior while navigating the router’s local interface and applying changes.

  2. iOS

    1. Open Settings -> Cellular/Mobile Data -> Toggle Off.

  3. Android

    1. Open Settings -> Connections/Network & Internet -> Toggle Mobile Data Off.

Step 2 - Connect to Router Wi-Fi

  1. Open Wi-Fi settings.

  2. Select SSID 'Augury_Cellular'.

  3. Enter password provided by Augury: augurysys1

    1. NOTE: If that password does not work, enter Augurysys1

  4. Confirm you are connected.

Step 3 - Access Web Admin

  1. Open a web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox).

    1. NOTE: You MUST type “https://”

  2. Accept security warning (Proceed Anyway).

  3. Log in with admin credentials: admin | Augurysys1

Step 4: Check Current Firmware

  1. On the Dashboard, locate 'Firmware' under Device Information.

  2. If the current firmware version installed on the device shows "8.3.0s068 build 5014", proceed. If not, stop here.

Step 5 - Apply Upgrade

  1. Select the System button from the Dashboard, and then select Reboot on the left side of the screen.

  2. Select the radio button that says 8.4.1 and click Reboot

  3. If 8.4.1 does not exist as an option, stop here and contact Augury support

Step 6: Verify the Update

  1. Log back into https://192.168.50.1

  2. Confirm the firmware version matches version 8.4.1 selected in the previous step.

Step 7: Reconnect Your PC

  1. Switch back to your normal Wi-Fi network.

  2. Resume normal operations.

Important Notes

  • Do not interrupt power during the update.

  • If the SSID is changed, contact your admin.

  • Ethernet is recommended if Wi-Fi is unstable.
