Updated over a week ago

A node can be replaced both from the Field job tab and the Installed tab.

See printed and visual instructions in the attached file below.

Before You Start

Make sure the replacement node is:

  • Turned on

  • The node is In Hotspot Mode (Network LED is Flashing GREEN)
Note: in case the Network LED isn't flashing green, follow the below steps

  • Configured to the network (online)

  • Halo Node

Step 1: Setting Up the New Node

  1. Supply power to the Node

  2. Sign in to the Halo Installation App

    1. Navigate to the Installed Tab

    2. Click Add Node

    3. The App will search for nearby nodes that are on and connected to the network and will display the new node's serial number shortly.

    4. Select the relevant node and fill in the information requested. NOTE: the node name cannot be the same, so use a variation such as adding "replacement" to the Node name

    5. Click Activate Node

  3. Mount the Node using your professional judgment on the best mounting method to affix the mounting plate to the appropriate location.

Step 2: Replacing the Node in the Halo Installation App

  1. Navigate to the node that is being replaced in the Halo Installation App

  2. Click on the three dots to the right of the name

  3. Click Replace

  4. Choose the name of the newly created node

  5. Click Continue

  6. Those machines are now linked to the new node

  7. Validate the connectivity status of the new Node and endpoints linked to it

Step 3: Deleting the Old Node Out of the Halo Installation App

Why is this necessary?

If you leave the old node in the app, it will continue to show up on the Needs Remediation reports. Delete the old node after verifying the new node is connected to the endpoints and sending data correctly.

  1. Navigate to the old node in the Halo Installation App

  2. Click on the three dots to the right of the name

  3. Click Delete

  4. Confirm the deletion
