Endpoint Firmware v1.7.0 Next-Generation IoT
Introduction
Both our Endpoint (EP) and Node software have important updates that together launch the next generation of Augury’s IoT devices. These are Endpoint Firmware Version 1.7.0 and Node Firmware 26.
Together they achieve the following:
Reduce data transfer size from EP to Node (by 30% - 50%)
Make the Node to EP pull connection more efficient
EP to Node Data Transfer
We have reduced the data transfer size by 30%-50%. This has been achieved through the compression of raw data and the trimming of non-relevant data points in raw Magnetic flux data The impact of this reduction in data transfer size is reflected in:
Improved battery lifetime by 15%-25%
Improved connectivity stability, with abnormal connection terminations reduced by 70%.
Reduction in the EP to Node data transfer time by 30%.
Optimized on-site infrastructure. The improvement of our EP to Node ratio reduces the need for power infrastructure and site installation
Node-to-EP Pull Connection
The new pull connection method has significantly improved data transfer efficiency. This is reflected in the:
Reduction of data transfer times by 70%
Contribution to the increase in EP to node ratio
Optimized on-site infrastructure. The improvement of our EP to Node ratio reduces the need for power infrastructure and site installation
The efficiency is achieved by the Node pinging the EP (instead of the EP pinging the Node), thus reducing the number of pings, together with the reduction of the data packet size by 30%-55%, which enables higher sampling efficiencies.
