Introduction
We added many improvements and features in September (many based on your input), and are excited to share them with you. Your feedback is always welcome and we look forward to hearing from you. Enjoy the new features!
Homepage
Augury’s new homepage is now live on the Augury platform. This is a beta version and the feature is scheduled for general release in November.
The homepage provides facility users with a dashboard so they can immediately see everything going on in their Augury account.
The dashboard has 3 areas:
Updates with chronologically ordered cards for each email alert you should have received (and may have missed). The days of hunting through your mailbox are over.
Open tasks – an overview of open tasks for machine health, IoT devices, and bookmarks.
An overview of the status of machines and IoT devices.
Node Connectivity
Improved node network configuration dialog
The following changes were made to make it easier to define the Internet settings.
When the user starts entering the Wi-Fi password, the supported characters are displayed.
When an unsupported character or incorrect Wi-Fi password is entered, an alert is displayed.
The Augury router is now the first option of the Internet Settings.
Notes on EP Screen
New notes feature added to the EP screen of the installation app!
Based on feedback from our users, we have added the ability to add notes on the EP page of the installation application. You no longer need to add notes to the machine page or copy/paste the EP serial number.
To learn how to use this feature, keep reading.
Enter the Install app job screen and select the relevant machine.
Click the relevant bearing to open the EP screen.
Scroll down to the bottom until you see Endpoint Notes. You can add here whatever you think is useful. For example:
Click Apply to save the notes.
Increased Bearing Limitation
Increased number of bearings now possible
We have increased the number of bearings you can house on the gearbox and driven equipment to 30 each. Now you can add more endpoints (EPs) where they are needed, resulting in fewer misplaced EPs. Read more to learn how to utilize this feature.
Define the maximum number of bearings when installing machine components
You can now house up to 30 bearings on the gearbox and driven equipment (instead of the previous 8 bearings limit), improving the accuracy of the installation of large machine components.
Important
If you change an already configured machine, you may lose historical data.
Open the install app and select the equipment you want to install.
On the next screen, select Gearbox.
Select the desired number of bearings and click Add. The maximum is 30.
Repeat for Driven Equipment.
When you’ve added bearings to both the Gearbox and driven equipment (even if the number is zero), click Save.
The machine page is displayed with a success message. You’ll also see a list of the bearings for the gearbox and driven equipment.
Scroll down and add installation notes.
Click Save to complete the bearing definition.
Notes
There is still a limit of 16 endpoints on a node that can be associated with any given machine.
For the motor, the maximum number of bearings is still 2.
Waterfall Graph
Augury is excited to announce the addition of its 3D waterfall graph to its suite of analytic tools.
Understanding the 3D waterfall graph
The waterfall graph provides VAs with enhanced precision and insight when analyzing machine data over extended periods.
A large amount of data is processed, and the results are presented clearly and intuitively, enabling you to analyze frequency amplitude changes over time.
Quickly add the graph to a report to communicate machine health insights more effectively to end users.
Click the switch to display the 3D waterfall graph. It replaces the 2D spectrum graph.
The 3D waterfall graph only supports 1 plane at a time, so select which one you need. If more than one is selected, the first (from the left) is used.
Quickly add the graph to a report to communicate machine health insights more effectively to end users.
Note that the sideband is disabled for this graph.
Hover over a point in the graph to see the timestamp, frequency, and amplitude.
The graph axes represent:
X-axis = Frequency
Y-axis = Amplitude
Z-axis is time. The values on the graph are sorted by timestamp, with the newest sessions further to the right.
SE Suppression
Reduction in the time required to maintain SE machines
Augury is rolling out its SE Suppression feature to reduce the time required to maintain SE machines by suppressing minor detections. This is a trial release, and the automatic feedback received during the trial will help us finalize the complete automated monitoring of SE machines. In particular, we want to check how suppressing detections below an ‘acceptable+monitor’ threshold impacts the number of misses (the Recall-to-Missed ratio) and use the results to tweak the algorithm.
Canary Battery Capacity
Increased accuracy in measuring battery consumption with the Canary battery capacity feature.
We are pleased to roll out the Canary battery capacity feature for Canary sensors. This feature enables us to continuously track the battery's consumption and present it as an accurate battery percentage, unaffected by external factors like temperature and battery load.
Note that this is only for Canary sensors. Other sensors cannot use this feature. Battery alerts will still be triggered by the voltage threshold and not the capacity, but root users will see the battery percentage on the IoT Management page.
In the future, this will be available to all users on the Machine Health page.
