Introduction
Setting a threshold value enables you to be informed when the threshold has been crossed. We recommend adding it when you need an additional layer of protection against misses.
In addition to setting the threshold value for a component or bearing, you can also determine how many times this should happen before being alerted. This removes noise from 1-off events, and provides alerts that are more relevant. This is added in the “Advanced settings” section.
How to add a threshold
Open the desired machine page, select the feature you want to track, and click Add threshold. This displays the threshold settings in the right-hand pane.
Note that thresholds are available for each feature separately (vibration, temperature, etc.)
In the “Set Threshold” pane, enter the threshold details.
Select the component, in this example, Motor or Driven Fan.
Note that to set a threshold for more than one component, you need to create an additional threshold. You also need to select bearings. Select “All” to keep the threshold at the component level, or select a specific bearing to add a threshold to it.
In the Set threshold value field, set the threshold value. When the threshold is crossed and the other criteria met, this triggers an email that is sent to all users subscribed to the machine.
In the Trigger condition field, select if the alert is triggered when the threshold falls either above or below the set value.
In the No. of samples crossed field, you can also select the minimum number of times the threshold needs to be crossed. The default is twice.
Then
Either, select out of how many samples the threshold is crossed
Or, set whether the alert will only be triggered if the threshold is crossed consecutively for the number of samples you defined.
Enter the Threshold description.
Click Save.
Check the threshold
The number of configured thresholds is listed below the graph.
Click the arrow to see a few details.
You can edit and change the threshold parameters anytime.
When the threshold is crossed and the other criteria met, this triggers an email that is sent to all users subscribed to the machine.
NOTE: You must set a threshold notification in your “Machine settings” to receive this notification.
