The purpose of this guide is to provide basic instructions on how to identify and resolve Peplink Max BR1 Mini IoT issues.

Before you Begin
Understanding some basic features of the Router before you begin troubleshooting will help resolve the issue faster and more accurately.

The LED Indicators
The Router Besic Troubleshooting is based on the Router LED indications, make sure you know them!
LED Indication of a Healthy Router
Following a successful initialization process (Steps 1-5 below), when a Router is fully functional, all three LED indicators will be green: The Status and Cellular will be solid Green, and Wi-Fi could be solid/blinking Green (depending on the router HW version) and once Augury centralized settings received, it will start distributing the “Augury_Cellular” Wi-Fi network.
Troubleshooting Router Issues
Tips for locating the router:
The Peplink router is usually mounted inside an off-white, Augury labeled enclosure box
The router enclosure box will be located within a 100ft/30mt radius of the Nodes and machines it serves per area, usually mounted next to one of the nodes. And requires a power source.
The router can be recognized by its SN, a SN Sticker can be found in various locations usually on the box or on the router itself as illustrated in the images below.
Issue: All LEDs are OFF
This is probably a power supply issue. Take the following actions to resolve.
Verify if the router enclosure's external outlet is connected to an active power outlet.
Open the enclosure door and check that the router power supply is plugged into the router enclosure internal power outlet.
If the router enclosure consists of a universal plug check that the connectors are properly plugged in as illustrated below.
If power is available, power cycle the router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in.
Plug another device into the router power outlet and in case the device is operating replace the router.
If the issue persists, contact Augury support, and provide them with a short description of the issue and steps taken including the last 4 characters of the router SN
Issue: The Status LED is constant red
This is probably a router FW issue. Take the following actions to resolve.
Power cycle the Router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in
If the issue persists, contact Augury support, and provide them with a short description of the issue and steps taken including the last 4 characters of the router SN
Issue: The Cellular LED doesn’t light up
This is probably a SIM card insertion/tray-related issue. Take the following actions to resolve.
Confirm the A SIM card was inserted into at least one of the SIM slots
If you find that a SIM card was inserted, please make sure it was inserted properly in accordance with the illustrations on the router next to the SIM slots cover (when inserted properly you should hear a “Click” sound)
Move the SIM card to the other SIM card slot and power cycle the router
Power cycle the Router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in
If the issue persists, contact Augury support, and provide them with a short description of the issue and steps taken including the last 4 characters of the router SN
Issue: The Cellular LED is Flashing GREEN
The router isn’t connected to a cellular network. Take the following action to resolve.
Stand next to the router and check if cellular connection is available and stable using your cellular phone using a dedicated speed test application/ phone browser, we recommend using Speedtest by Ookla
If the Cellular connection is available and found stable, record the cellular carrier name for traceability Power cycle the Router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in
If the cellular connection is unavailable/found unstable, try relocating the router to another position where the connection is available and check again
If the issue persists, contact Augury support, and provide them with a short description of the issue and steps taken including the last 4 characters of the router SN
Issue: The WiFi LED is off
The router isn’t distributing the WiFi network. Take the following action to resolve.
Ensure that the WiFi antennas are securely screwed into place
Examine the antenna connection to the router for any signs of physical damage.
Power cycle the Router by unplugging it for 10 seconds and plugging it back in
Follow these steps to reset the router to factory settings
While connected to a power source and following initialization, Insert the opened end of a paperclip into the hole above the ↺ symbol next to the power connector.
Push the paperclip into the hole and hold it there until the Wi-Fi and Cellular lights have gone out and the Status light has turned solid red.
The router will reboot to its original, default configuration.
If the issue persists, contact Augury support, and provide them with a short description of the issue and steps taken including the last 4 characters of the router SN
