Introduction to IoT Health Information

Updated this week

Introduction

Augury displays the machine’s health statuses and actions requiring your attention.

Handling the statuses and maintaining the IoT equipment are the keys to getting the best analytics and diagnostics for your company, saving you time and money on Machine Health maintenance.

NOTE: An instructional video is also available to Introduce and respond to IoT health alerts.

The IoT health alerts are available from four platform locations

  • Alerts from the Home page

  • Alerts from a Machine page

  • Alerts from the Building page

  • IoT Health tab

Home page

The first place you see IoT health alerts is the “Home page.”

  1. In the “Updates” section, are the IoT notifications that were also sent to your email.

  2. Under “Open tasks,” are the number of critical IoT alerts - on Nodes and Routers.

  3. You can view and access the IoT alerts information by clicking “View details.” - you’ll be directed to the IoT Health tab.

Statuses from the Machine page

  • You first see the current IoT alerts when hovering the alert icon at the top of the page (1).

  • The following example shows two EPs that are not sending data (2).

  • Clicking the “View full IoT status” takes you to the machine’s IoT status page (3).

  • Clicking the “View full IoT status” link (6) takes you to the IoT Status page.
From there, you can get additional information about the IoT devices.
Clicking one of the devices rows opens the device information on the right-side panel with the required actions and access an instructional guide.

Status from “Building Breakdown.”

Another location from which you can get the IoT status indication is the “Building Breakdown.”

Under the “Last recorded” column, an indication is available if there are any issues with one of the devices.

“IoT Health” tab

The main source of the IoT information is under the “IoT Health” tab.

From there, you can view and access all the IoT alerts and Device information, get required actions to solve the issue, and access the guide (“how to” instructions).

IoT tab information.

You can view and handle the four alert types from the IoT tab.

Router (1) | Nodes (2) | Endpoints (3) | Batteries (4)

1. Router Alert

By scrolling down, you see the router alert details; the following information helps you locate and understand the alert issue.

  • Device (1) - The device name and SN.

  • Location (2) - The device location: clicking the link directs you to the building location

  • Status (3) - Shows device IoT status and, if there are - the issues affecting it.

  • Required actions (4) - What is the recommended action?

  • Connected nodes (5) - Hovering over the info icon shows the nodes connected to this router.

  • Last valid date (6) - When was the last valid data sample received from this device

  • You can browse back and forth in the alerts if there is more than one alert (7).

image.png
  • Clicking the alert opens the right-side panel >> “Device status” tab, including a link to a relevant article and additional information for this alert (8).

  • Clicking the “Information” tab displays the router information (9).

Go to the “Understanding IoT Health Status” article to learn more about working with the alerts.

2. Node Alert.

Nodes transfer their data via Augury-supplied cellular routers or site-supplied Wi-Fi.
This impacts the troubleshooting actions.

By scrolling down the IoT tab to the Nodes section, you see the node alert details, the following information helps you locate and understand the alert issue.

  • Device (1) - The device name and SN

  • Location (2) - The device location: clicking the link directs you to the building location

  • Status (3) - Shows device IoT status, and if there are - the issues affecting it

  • Required actions (4) - What is the recommended action?

  • Connected nodes (5) - Hovering over the info icon shows the affected machines connected to this node.

  • Last valid date (6) - When was the last valid data sample received from this device

  • You can browse back and forth in the alerts if there is more than one alert (7).

image.png
  • Clicking the alert opens the right-side window >> Device status tab (8), including a link to a relevant article and additional information for this alert.

  • Clicking the “Information” tab displays the node information (9).

3. Endpoint and battery statuses.

The Endpoint (EP) and battery alerts are displayed on the same EP row.
You can see the status of a specific EP and its battery from here.

You see the EP and Battery alert details by scrolling down to the EPs section.

  • Device (1) - The device name and SN.

  • Location (2) - The device location: clicking the link directs you to the building location.

  • Status (3) - Shows the device's IoT status and, if there are - the issues affecting it.

  • Required actions (4) - What is the recommended action?

  • Battery (5) - Displays the EP battery status. If a battery is drained, you get an indication and “how to replace battery” instructions.

  • Last valid date (6) - When was the last valid data sample received from this device.

  • You can browse back and forth (7) in the alerts if there is more than one alert.
