Introduction
This article provides an overview of the R4010 endpoint. This endpoint will gradually replace the R4000 series. The optimum configuration uses the R4010 endpoint with the Cassia X2000 gateway.
Comparison of the R4010 with the R4000
The R4010 endpoint is for non-hazardous environments. It is applicable to both wet and dry environments, with excellent sealing, and has a high accelerometer for measuring high RPMs.
The following diagram highlights what is similar to the R4000 series, and what has changed.
Improvements
Sealing
The R4010 is extremely water resistant, with an improved O’ring and additional sealing. This makes it the perfect endpoint for wet environments. This results in a sturdier sensor (slightly larger and heavier).
High G accelerometer
The accelerometer is designed to support machines experiencing high levels of acceleration (high g-forces).
Replaceable battery
The battery pack has two batteries and is replaceable.
Ceramic BLE antenna
The antenna has been improved and allows for larger distances between the endpoint and the gateway.
What remains the same
The basic look, installation, and mapping process remain the same. You can also use the same stud mounts from the R4000.
New tools
The installation pack comes with two new tools for installation and maintenance.
