Understanding Alerts
Augury’s alerts represent an update on a machine’s health status that require your attention and action. Every health status update has three elements that are meant to help you understand how to assess and address it:
Faults - existing issues detected on the machine
Severity level - each fault will be assigned with one of the 4 severity levels: Acceptable, Monitor, Alarm and Danger, according to the urgency of the required action.
Recommended treatment - the actions that are recommended to take in order to resolve the issue.
You’ll be notified on new alerts via email or text message (per your preference), and via your Machines to Notice dashboard on the Augury platform.
New alert
When receiving a notification on a new alert, the first thing to do is visit the machine page to better understand the problem and start investigating.
Investigate
Review the machine status description and findings to learn about the urgency of the alert and the specific issues detected.
Click on “Recommended Actions” to review the possible causes and recommended treatment added to each fault, and evidence to the faults that can be seen on the data features' trends.
Use the recommended actions to plan how to investigate the alert.
Log findings
The findings and results of the physical inspection done on the machine should be logged by you and your team as observations to the platform, which will then be reviewed by Augury's experts.
Once reviewed, you'll receive an email with a link to the review summary on the platform, which will include recommendations for the next steps. With the information provided, you can plan how to resolve the problem.
Validate repairs
Once a corrective action was made, log a repair to the platform. The repair will be reviewed by Augury's experts and you'll be notified about it via email.
In case the repair solved the problem, the machine health status will change.
In case the actions performed did not solve the problems, follow the recommended treatment list or reply to the thread and ask us for additional recommendations.

Correctly addressing machine alerts on the Augury Platform is important to ensure that everyone on your team:
Understands next steps for each flagged machine issue
Has accurate and clear visibility on unaddressed alerts when prioritizing across machines
Can prompt observation and diagnosis feedback from your Augury team when required
This platform update streamlines the workflow for addressing machine alerts, making it easier and more intuitive to document responses.
Machine alerts can be addressed by adding one of the following events:
Observation
Planned Repair
Repair
Buttons to add events are now highlighted and easily accessible on both the Machine Page and Machines to Notice Page.
Note: Comments being used for collaborative purposes will no longer reflect as addressing alerts.
How it Works
1. Easily add events directly from the Machine Page or the Machines to Notice Page.
2. Hover over an “Unaddressed Alert” notification to access a drop-down menu with the three available event types.
3. Select and add an event type
What does the color coding mean?
Add an Observation - Machine Health Inquiry
When a visual inspection of equipment in response to an alert reveals nothing obvious, use this to provide inspection findings and prompt Augury for a machine alert reassessment or to add further diagnosis clarification.
Add an Observation - IoT
Use to provide information surrounding observed endpoints that you believe are related to the machine health status or for which you need assistance from the Augury Support team.
Add a Planned Repair
Following visual inspection of the machine in response to an alert, add inspection and planned repair details, including the projected date of the repair. Users will receive a reminder on the Machines to Notice page when the planned repair is due to be submitted for Augury's review.
Add a Repair
Following a machine repair, add details on what was done including any other observations in order to receive feedback on the correction action performed.
4. Event updates for each machine alert are clearly presented on the Machines to Notice page providing visibility to the entire team and ensuring no alert is overlooked.
