Learn why an asset assessment is necessary, how to prepare for it, what to expect, and what the output will be.
What is Augury’s Asset Assessment?
Our Solutions Architect (SA) and Reliability Success Management (RSM) teams have decades of experience in reliability, maintenance, and leadership within the manufacturing space across multiple industries. We leverage this expertise through an in-person walkthrough of your facility, during which the SA or RSM will review each machine to provide a high, medium, or low risk assessment and recommend the most appropriate monitoring solution.
We generally expect to review all relevant production and utility assets. This involves collecting nameplate information, observing the configuration and operation of each machine, and gaining an understanding of how each machine is tied into and impacts the overall process within the facility. Additionally we account for aspects such as redundancy, ease of access, ease of repair, HSE impact, available spares, and other details for each machine.
How Can You Prepare?
We require an escort who is familiar with and able to address any relevant questions about the machines. The output from each site walkthrough is an Asset Assessment Report Alarm which will itemize each of the machines reviewed with a designated risk assessment and recommended monitoring solution.
Expect to commit at least half a day, and understand that the timeframe will vary depending on the size of the facility and number of machines being reviewed. Additionally, we recommend utilizing the on-site time with the SA or RSM to review Augury’s platform and solutions with the local team to build familiarity and address any questions.

It is Not a Formal Criticality Assessment
To be clear, Augury’s Asset Assessment is not intended to replace or otherwise indicate the results of a formal Criticality Assessment. Relatively speaking, a formal criticality assessment would be a more thorough and detailed process requiring an entire team to facilitate over an extended period of time. Our Asset Assessment takes place in the span of a single site visit and specifically focuses on your rotating mechanical equipment.
How Does Our Asset Assessment Help You?
Augury’s Asset Assessment is beneficial for any facility seeking direction on the scope of a project for continuous machine monitoring, and it also expedites the scoping process if an existing Criticality Assessment is not available for reference. Our assessment provides guidance for the foundation of a successful and valuable partnership enabling optimal coverage on your machines. Our process enables us to focus on the machines which will demonstrate the most value towards minimizing downtime and enabling an efficient maintenance and reliability program.
