Are you working in an explosive (Hazardous) environment (CI-D2, CII-D2 ATEX2)? If the answer is yes and the EP is calcified and has a battery issue - replace the entire EP and not just the battery.
Replacing a battery in HZ sensors is strictly forbidden.
Review this document for step-by-step instructions on how to replace an endpoint (E1, E2, EX).

Studs/Mounts
Step 1: Remove the Cover
Remove the cover by loosening the cap screws and flip the switch upwards. The self-test will then start. Confirm self-test passes. (The LED lights will be blinking blue. If it's constant or blinking red, DO NOT USE THE ENDPOINT)
NOTE: The new endpoint MUST be placed in the exact position of the previous endpoint. If unsure, contact Augury.
Step 2: Clean the Machine
Clean the machine surface with sandpaper, a wire wheel, or grinder to remove any residue or paint. Use a degreaser and lint free rag to finish cleaning the machine surface.
Step 3: Attach the Appropriate Basemount
Use Loctite 242 Threadlocker to attach the appropriate basemount to the sensor. Hand tighten the basemount to the sensor first, then use two 22mm wrenches to tighten.
NOTE: If the endpoint is being mounted through drill and tap method, you will use a 22mm wrench and a 19mm wrench.
Step 4: Attach the Endpoint to the Machine
Apply the appropriate glue to the basemount and attach the endpoint to the machine, paying attention to the orientation of the endpoint in relation to the machine.
Step 5: Map the New Endpoint
You have two ways to map endpoints:
