Install Locations

The motor sensor near the coupling can go Horizontal if it doesn’t fit vertically. Depending on the length of the pump housing and bearing layout, the pump may require 2 bearings instead of 1.

Install Locations

Usually, this Vertical Centrifugal Pump does not have a rotating bearing on the pump. If it does, see next image.

Install Locations

When a rolling bearing exists at the pump, it can exist at the top of the pump head or at the bottom, or sometimes both. Look for a lubrication port (grease zerk). For pumps outdoors or in a very wet environment, you may have to dig around the base of the pump head to remove dirt or algae to find the lubrication port. Once you locate the piece of metal where the port is attached, try to install on that piece of metal because it is the most likely location for the bearing. Try to install on the metal part of the machine that is holding the bearing in place, not the bolted piece of metal adjacent to the metal that is holding the bearing.

Install Locations

Turbine Stack Pumps can be horizontal (in the case of Reverse Osmosis Pumps) or vertical (in the case of Vertical Can Pumps). For the instance of Vertical Can Pumps, follow the same guidance as the Vertical Centrifugal Pump previous shown.

For this Asset, install on the motor as usual, and install one sensor on the pump housing at the bearing.
